Who I am
My name is Will, it’s nice to meet you!
I have been immersed in the world of computers and electronics since I was a kid. Throughout my tech journey, I have encountered my fair share of electronic mishaps, learning many valuable lessons along the way. However, I have also acquired valuable knowledge through education, obtaining certifications such as CompTIA Security+. Armed with this expertise, I collaborated with others at Alma to gain practical work experience and establish a commendable reputation.
Alma College played a significant role in my professional development, serving as both an internship and employment opportunity. During my tenure at Alma College, I honed my skills in efficient inventory management, devised a customized Inventory App, and gained substantial experience with Microsoft 365. Moreover, I had the privilege of engaging with students and staff, acquiring a wealth of service expertise.
One aspect of my work that brings me immense joy, whether working remotely or on-site, is resolving end-user issues and providing support. It's incredibly gratifying to enter a room filled with stress and alleviate some of that tension with a warm smile. I firmly believe that by addressing their problems and ensuring the prevention of future catastrophes, I can contribute to making the world a slightly happier place, one user at a time. Additionally, I am committed to minimizing e-waste by refurbishing devices and implementing proper recycling practices. I aim to establish a comprehensive e-waste recycling process before 2028.
When it comes to recycling electronics, my intention is to extract reusable or recyclable components such as batteries, processors, and other valuable parts, as well as minerals. To achieve this, I intend to effectively breaks down PCBs and electronic boards. This process enables the extraction of gold and other small metals like aluminum while responsibly disposing of other unwanted materials.
Of course, this is just one of my many goals as a tech hobbyist. I want to do my part in taking care of this planet. It’s going to be an amazing journey learning how this all works. I hope to see you along the way!
